Engineering test for pvt varsity to be held on May 13
Chandigarh: The COMEDK UGET and Uni-GAUGEE entrance exams for admissions into private engineering institutions will now be held on May 13. The exam will be conducted online at over 150 cities and 375 test centers across India as combined examination for the admission into engineering BE/BTech courses.
βThe vision for 2020 is to be the most credible and neutral entrance exam for at least 100 private universities and 300 colleges in India offering at least 50,000 engineering seats. This will also minimize the number of tests for students. It started as a simple concept of unifying private engineering varsities into a single exam three years ago. There are more than 150 institutions and 25 universities accepting the results and 1,25,000 students giving an online exam. With a reach of 140 cities and 400 test centres it has grown in strength over the years,β said P Muralidhar, CEO of a notfor-profit organization, which conducts Uni-GAUGE. TNN
